Collection: Japan

The Japan collection is inspired by one of the most famous examples of Japanese art in the world, The Great Wave off Kanagawa, better known simply as "The Wave", a woodcut by Japanese master Katsushika Hokusai.

In this engraving, a huge wave is seen threatening a fishermen's boat, in Kanagawa Prefecture, with Mount Fuji visible in the background. Despite its size, this wave may not portray a tsunami, but a normal wave created by the effect of wind and tides.

With sinuous lines, the pieces represent the movements of waves on the high seas in combination with the Japanese minimalist aesthetic.
